“The point of science is not to solve the problem that happens to be fashionable in the day. It’s to find out about the world” - Steven Weinberg.

Free expressions of basic new ideas are sometimes suppressed by existing publication censorship; typical reasons for rejections are vague (“ad hoc”, “not enough math guide”, “empiricism” etc.). It is a hidden form of suppression new ideas that are beyond mainstream approach and uncomfortable for some “experts”- referees. It is a human side-effect of true science, a sort of pseudo-science. It happens not often, in exceptional cases, but happens indeed.

A great many “fashionable” mainstream searches, looking for new types of flavor symmetries, were published for decades. Still, there is no established flavor theory. Virtually such symmetries imply possible complete understanding of the subject. But as lesson from quantum mechanics, implication of complete understanding may be not fully justified.

Present flavor physics is crying for basically new ideas. New flavor ideas of duality relations between SM hierarchy angles and Euclidean 3-space geometry vector-direction angles at leading approximation (for empirical parameters) suggest geometric interpretation of SM hierarchies (arXiv:1212.1417, updated in ResearchGate 6/16). This semi-empirical flavor phenomenology is partly similar to the historic semi-empirical start of quantum mechanics.

SM hierarchy-angles coincide with Euclidean geometry direction angles at decisive leading approximation; both angle-types are solutions of the invariant Metric Equation: cos^2(2 theta-x) + cos^2(2 theta-y) + cos^2(2 theta-z) = 1 with ‘theta-x,y,z’ the SM hierarchy angles or Euclidean geometry direction angles. This is a universal semi-empirical rule in the SM. There are no exceptions to that rule. It is model-independent and seems interesting.

In addition, this flavor-geometric duality rule in SM is factually a low energy semi-empirical foundation of necessary high energy unification of SM flavor phenomena with Einstein’s geometry-gravity (GR) at Plank scale. Unfortunately, this research doesn’t overcome publication censorship.
