Besides the inevitable emotional doubts accompanying fundamental physics research, Einstein’s results (in the EPR article) are right - there is action at a distance and quantum mechanics seems “spooky” (from classical point of view). But it is what the quantum reality factually is; it is new and spooky only in terms of classical concepts. Hens the spookiness is related to the field of language. The observable manifestations of the principally not macro-classical quantum reality can be described only by Metaphors taken from the partial similarity with some very well known attributes of classical reality (of inanimate and living things) such as “discrete particle action”, “wave interference”, “reflexive answer to observational impact” (wave function collapse), “temporary psi-memory related to initial conditions, and stable psi-memory related to conservation laws” (e.g. action at distance), “planetary atom” (nuclei) etc. Nature affords having in store new kind of realities. New realities are natural rather than spooky.
