'Green' chemical products have generally gotten a pass from the environmental community but with one of their own, former Natural Resources Defense Council lawyer Robert F. Kennedy, now in charge of a gigantic government health agency and going after the modern world, the lawsuit money is too good to pass up. So-called eco-friendly chemical products have come under fire.

And women are impacted most, according to the study, which is always going to get Washington Post editors assigning stories. The analysis looked at period underwear, reusable pads, and menstrual cups, including green versions, and found what they deemed "known" endocrine disruptors linked to everything from cancer to decreased fertility to early puberty because these Forever Chemicals™ are leeching into the water supply and suggest scientists know about it and do nothing anyway and soon the whole country will be like that town Erin Brockovich talked about.

It's in a graphic in an environmental corporate journal, so it must be true.

Relax, "linked to" and "correlated" and "suggested" means it is not science, it is just EXPLORATORY. It is only cross-matching a disease and a product in a spreadsheet. It is a common tactic because it is so lucrative. Juries may not understand science but they can get behind the Precautionary Principle if a good lawyer pleads about 'holding corporations accountable.'

The progressive war on science generally creates a suitable battlefield first, in this case by declaring PFAS are "forever chemicals" and that evil scientists have been suppressing evidence of it all along.
That is not hyperbole. The Guardian newspaper wrote a serious article declaring that the chemicals in the pizza box were worse for your health than the calories in the pizza.(1)

Scientists have always known that PFAS are actually 12,000 chemicals, nearly all found in nature so about 90% of us will have them "detectable" at any given time, while the few synthetic ones have never been shown to harm people. Only activists who sift through surveys hoping to find enough people who got some disease used a product have declared "correlation" and then getting allies in media to imply causation.

The New York Times convinced Kennedy by doing just that for decades and now he is doing what other environmental lawyers have dreamed about; opening the lawsuit flood gates by declaring that  epidemiology is a Supreme Court over science. Chemists, biologists, and toxicologists are too simple to grasp the world that IARC and NIEHS can detect in food surveys and experiments overdosing rats. That means it is not just open season on corn farmers who sell to sugar companies. Seventh Generation and every other 'green' chemical corporation are at risk of being driven out of business.

Because 'green' chemicals have PFAS also.

Like to post that nonsensical "all natural weedkiller" on social media, which Glen Tickle showed is stuffed with chemicals? You are now a Republican.

Kathrin Schilling, an assistant professor of environmental science at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City, says even green menstrual products for women have the same risks as pizza boxes and chemicals that prevent your couch from catching on fire. When green products have lost CNN, they have lost the fight.

“When we measured the neutral PFAS there were much higher concentrations — not parts per trillion, not even parts per billion, but levels at parts per million — that’s very, very high,” said senior study author and University of Notre Dame Professor Graham Peaslee.

Actually, it is not that high. Under one part per million used to be "zero" and no one was harmed by the homeopathic amounts he now suggests are killing women. Now we can detect at parts per quadrillion which means we can literally detect anything in anything. And with PFAS lawsuits being Big Business, companies started expanding PFAS detection out to neutral PFAS.

Worse, the paper is talking about an inert chemical while suggesting it is just as harmful as the ionic forms science does not think are harmful in any dose you will get in 200 lifetimes.

Homeopathy is real to activists, and inert does not exist. The presence of any chemical is pathogenic. Dose no longer matters.

Welcome to a world where anti-science progressives are actually in charge, which academic scientists refused to stop before 2025.

NOTE:

(1) Academics, who have shared the giant tent with activists for 40 years because environmentalists have only gone after corporations, are scrambling to shore up public trust in science after decades of ignoring assaults on it because it was only the private sector affected. Now that Republicans are against food coloring and high-fructose corn syrup, the same people ignoring claims by their tribe for decades are complaining about it on Twitter, declaring 'no evidence' when what they mean is 'no science evidence.'

There has been plenty of 'evidence' but now they concede it was only epidemiological claims - correlation, not science. The same epidemiologists who were unimpeachable when declaring that years-long lockdowns, mandatory vaccines, and government bans on evictions would save the world during the COVID-19 pandemic are suddenly being declared not science, despite the methodology - statistical inference and computer models - being the same.
