News of gravitational waves and dark matter from the APS April meeting of 2013.

Probably no signs of gravitational waves, signs of dark matter but not a discovery. That is the...

I had high hopes for "Gender Madness in American Psychiatry: Essays from the Struggle for Dignity", Kelley Winters. ( ISBN-10: 1-4392-2388-2, ISBN-13: 9781439223888 ) I write for Wikipedia on the issues related to Blanchard's theory.  I was looking for something that would meet wikipedia's criteria for a reliable source, written by a transsexual, on this topic.  I thought maybe this book would meet that standard.

Many of the biggest breakthroughs in science come from unexpected directions. Many revolutions come from unknown almost unfunded scientist working in obscurity. How can politicians in Washington know what kind of energy research will make that next big breakthrough? They cannot! So what will they do?  Spend money on whatever political paradigm got them the votes they needed, or sounds good to their constituents.

The result of my research into F(4) symmetry and my theory of Quantum Space-Time Dynamics.

Month's ago I wrote of my interest in researching the exceptional lie group and algebra F(4) in relation to the theory of Quantum Space-Time Dynamics.  I now have my results.  The investigation was pretty standard and not surprising.  Intuition told me that the fields in my theory, which I wrote down years before I really knew about quantum field theory, had this symmetry.  What did surprise me and disturb me was when I considered what the conserved current due to the F(4) symmetry is.  Noether's theorem tell us that a continuous symmetry of the Lagrangian will induce a conserved current.

The mad scientist stereotype seems to be alive and well.  This time it is emerging in a disturbing way.  A US Army scientist, Bruce E. Ivins, committed suicide at the age of 62.  He has been implicated in the Anthrax case from 2001.  You remember those letters that started to show up after 9/11  "Death to America, Death to Israel, Praise be to Allah!"  (That is another set of stereotypes for another day.

Today I have published on my youtube account two new lessons in my series on quantum theory. In my continued attempts to explain ever more complex concepts in Quantum Physics I have defined all the mathematics I should need. Based on that very minimal mathematical framework, I can have a more informal discussion with my viewers. The subjects of these lessons was basically a conceptual discussion of the subject matter of the first two lessons. A discussion which enables me to have a informed, and intuitive discussion of the concept of an operator on a space.
