The retailer Tesco has launched the Tesco Magazine Kids' Book Club  with the help of award-winning authors Naomi Wood, Anne Fine and Andy Stanton, to help parents pick the best in children's literature.   Parents will be able to get a helping hand when deciding what kids should read thanks to the new childrens' book club featuring acclaimed author Naomi Wood.

Naomi, whose debut novel "The Godless Boys" won the Amazon Rising star award, also writes kids' literacy books and will pick the best reads for youngsters aged from two to 12.   The site  will also offer videos, short stories and extracts from the latest kids' books to hit the shelves as well as classic kids' stories online.   The retailer has also commissioned award-winning children's authors Anne Fine and Andy Stanton to write new short stories for the website.

Naomi will choose three or more books a month and categories will be divided up into aged two to five, six to eight and nine to 12 years old. She will produce a children's book club blog (http://www.mrgum.co.uk/author.htm) to tell parents about the books she is choosing as well as giving advice on how to get kids reading more.  Comedienne and actress Meera Syal and her husband Sanjeev Bhasker will also read whole fairy tales and other short storiest.

Naomi said, "I'm very excited to be the new Editor for the Tesco Magazine Kids' Book Club. As a writer for adults and children I know what a challenge it can be to get kids into reading. We want to make parents' jobs easier - from experts' tips, reader reviews and story-time videos to new work from Britain's best-loved authors, we'll have kids leaping into bed with their favourite book in no time."
