About Andy I'm Andy Briggs, and I have been totally smitten by the wonderful Universe we live in since I was about three. I've been an amateur astronomer ever since then (over 50 years!) and have a keen interest in observing the Universe and telling anybody who will listen all about it. I give a lecture about the Universe once a month for my colleagues, I work with local libraries and schools on astronomy outreach programmes and am passionate about communicating scientific ideas to people from all backgrounds. I am married and have a wonderful six-year-old daughter who could name all eight planets in our solar system not long after she learned to talk. These things are important.
