About Liz I am a 4th year graduate student in Neuroscience at UC Berkeley. My research career has so far been distinguished by a general lack of cohesiveness. My areas of "focus" (which is a generous and perhaps misleading word) include hormones of sexual reproduction, regulation of the birth of new neurons in adulthood (adult neurogenesis) and how control over a stressor can alter the effects of that stressor. I have also dabbled in prenatal diet effects on later life brain function and some human studies of stress management. Beyond my own work, I am generally fascinated by science (I tend to have a soft spot for biological sciences is particular). And why not? Science is pretty darned cool. So, while my training is in the odd little corners of neuroscience that I have inhabited over the years, I still enjoy finding and exploring all the other nooks and crannies of science when I read about other people's work.
