Football coaches are notoriously risk adverse. Pathetically so. Fourth and inches on your opponent's 45? Most coaches punt cause they are scared. Do you have any idea how often teams are stopped on fourth and inches (as long as they make a sensible play call)? Ever played nose tackle and tried to stop a quarterback sneak from gaining four inches? The odds are in favor of The Frogger picking up the inches against an NFL defensice line.

Football coaches are overly risk adverse. Not so with Pulaski Academy High School football coach Kevin Kelley is now, officially, my favorite football coach. He is not my favorite for his unusual strategy, but because the strategy is informed by actual numbers, statistics, and critical thinking.
