SHANGHAI, February 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA), Global Wind Energy Council and Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Shanghai branch of the China International Trade Promotion Committee, once again join forces to build Asia's first professional platform focused on the offshore wind power market -- Offshore Wind China 2010 -- which will be held from June 7-9, 2010 in Shanghai.

This exhibition has received strong support from the National Energy Board, Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Shanghai Municipal Economic and Information Committee, and the provincial development and reform commissions of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and Guangdong.

Chairman of the Global Wind Energy Council, Arthouros Zervos, said: With the abolishing of the requirement that at least 70 percent of wind turbine equipment needs to be produced in China, foreign wind power technologies, which are more advanced, will march into China, so competition will become more intense. In view of this, this event can create an international exchange and cooperation platform.

As of the end of January, leading enterprises that are engaged in offshore wind power both at home and abroad, such as Vestas, Sinovel Wind, Siemens and Guodian United Power, have confirmed their appearance at this exhibition.

Foreign regions having well-developed offshore wind power industries are also attaching great importance to this event -- the governments of both Norway and Denmark have organized national pavilion; also, experts from nearly 10 countries will address the Conference.
