NAARDEN, Netherlands, November 26 /PRNewswire/ --

Global IP solutions provider Global Crossing (Nasdaq: GLBC) today announced that it has won a five-year contract worth US$1.8 million to provide CIBER NL, a part of CIBER (NYSE: CBR), with collocation and Direct Internet Access (DIA) services. CIBER provides high-quality IT solutions and services for companies and public sector organizations throughout Europe and eastern Asia.

Global Crossing won what was a highly competitive bid to help CIBER start up its main data center in Amsterdam and to use this center for the hosting of all the critical equipment and applications on behalf of CIBER's end-user managed service solutions.

"We needed a robust solution with a partner we can trust to understand our business needs as we continue leading the way in selling managed services," says Tom Van den Berg, managing director, CIBER NL. "When we required a central hosting data center for critical equipment and applications for the total delivery of our managed services portfolio, we naturally turned to Global Crossing as a result of our excellent experience with their collocation services in Amsterdam."

The new strategic direction for CIBER NL focuses on delivery and maintenance of a total set of managed services for specific target customers. In order to set up a completely standardized environment, CIBER selected different vendors and developed a total managed services portfolio, which simplifies doing business with the company. As a continuously growing company, CIBER is expanding its Information and Communications Technology (ICT) managed services business and plans to open a second data center in Amsterdam for active solutions and real-time disaster and recovery purposes.

Anthony Christie, managing director, EMEA, Global Crossing said: "This major contract win with CIBER clearly demonstrates our growing presence in the European market and our ability to provide the company with a robust ICT managed services portfolio and deliver integrated network and housing solutions." He continued, "Our mission is to ensure that we deliver to companies such as CIBER the superior services required and the building blocks to offer converged managed services in what is a fast and dynamic market."

Van den Berg concluded: "The work we've undertaken with Global Crossing will allow us to offer a robust set of proven and predictable services to our customers."
