MUNICH, Germany, June 10 /PRNewswire/ --

- Media Event Providing Insight Into Hypertension and its Challenges

Currently there is a clear need that is not being met in managing hypertension. Daiichi Sankyo would like to invite you to the media event An untold story in Hypertension...the challenge for life where this unmet need will be discussed and addressed.

Even though the risks of uncontrolled hypertension are well known to the patient the physician still faces a considerable challenge in helping them reach their blood pressure goal. Only one in three patients manage to achieve their BP goal with current anti-hypertensive therapies. The remaining "challenging patients" are at significant increased risk for cardiovascular disease progression and are a source of great worry for the physician.

This media event will feature a case study approach to provide insight into the current challenges in hypertension that face healthcare professionals. These case studies will investigate treatments and options on how to meet the needs of the "challenging patient" and provide insight into the current state of hypertension management.

The event will be chaired by Professor Hans R Brunner of Switzerland. Presenters include:

Professor Michel Burnier, Switzerland

Dr Khalid Khan, UK

Dr Schmidt-Trucksäss, Germany

The media event will be held at Hypertension 2008, the joint congress bringing together delegates for the 18th Scientific Meeting of the European Society of Hypertension and the 22nd Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hypertension

TIME:

LOCATION:

Room 43 Internationales Congress Centrum ICC, Berlin Neue, Kantstrasse / Ecke Messedamm. D-14057 Berlin
