BOSTON and CAMBRIDGE, England, November 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Ember, a leading provider of low-power, wireless mesh networking technology, today announced the appointment of Bert Lutje Berenbroek to the position of vice president of sales for Europe. As part of the Ember management team, he will continue to build momentum for Ember's ZigBee technology in the region.

Lutje Berenbroek was most recently VP of sales for Ubicom, a manufacturer of communication chips and software. In that role, he led a global sales team and developed major verticals by building a strong sales channel, support organization and partner relationships in Europe and Asia. Prior to Ubicom, Lutje Berenbroek held sales leadership positions at Cypress Semiconductor and Samsung.

We are delighted to welcome Bert to the Ember team at a time when the ZigBee market is poised for dramatic growth in Europe, said Robert LeFort, Ember CEO. His experience working with customers transitioning from product development into volume production is ideally aligned with Ember's needs in that market.

Ember has a strong presence in Europe including its radio development center in Cambridge, UK where the industry's first system-on-chip (SoC) and network co-processor were developed; as well as more recently, the first ARM Cortex-M3 based family of ZigBee SoCs.

I am excited to join Ember's outstanding team, work with best in class products and help extend Ember's strong presence in Europe, said Lutje Berenbroek. We have a great opportunity to strengthen Ember and ZigBee's position as the technology of choice for low-power mesh networking applications in Europe, especially in smart energy and home security, monitoring and automation.

Lutje Berenbroek will be based out of The Netherlands.
