INTEROP, BERLIN, November 6 /PRNewswire/ --
- Accelerating Customer Projects and Strategic Distribution Partnerships Drive Significant New Investment in D-A-CH Region
Extricom, a designer and manufacturer of high-performance, next generation wireless LAN infrastructure solutions for the enterprise, today announced a significant expansion of its European operations, including the signing of a seasoned wireless executive and the establishment of its D-A-CH headquarters in Munich. The investment is accompanied by the installation of a broad sales infrastructure with distributors and system partners. Customers such as Doppelmayr, the Austrian manufacturer of lifts and mountain railways, have chosen Extricom's award-winning Interference-Free(TM) WLAN system, and discovered unprecedented Wi-Fi performance and enterprise design flexibility.
Extricom's patented WLAN system represents the next generation of enterprise Wi-Fi, with a fundamental shift in architecture from "cell-planning" to a "channel blanket" topology. The technology eliminates the co-channel interference that plagues traditional WLAN systems, to deliver seamless and zero-latency mobility, robust, 'wire-like' client connections, and the ability to design for a guaranteed and predictable level of service for all users. All this, without the iterative and costly RF cell-planning of traditional solutions. The result is a high-performance yet simple solution for powering the enterprise triple play of data, voice (VoWLAN), and video.
Strong market reception in Europe has led Extricom to engage in an aggressive expansion program for the region, commencing with the arrival of Wilfried Schon, as General Manager D-A-CH, and the opening of D-A-CH headquarters in Munich. Wilfried Schon is an experienced sales professional with deep understanding of the D-A-CH arena in both enterprise and service provider markets.
"In four short months, we have established sales and field engineering presence in Germany. Our mission is to build local capability in each of our key markets, to ensure we accelerate the development of a high-performance distribution channel, and further propel the already-healthy customer traction we have seen in Europe," said Wilfried Schon.
In Germany, Extricom has already signed distribution agreements with BFIoptilas, Firstwave and Scalcom. In addition, numerous resellers have been certified, including Argus, RubyTech, Wirelessconsulting, Telefonbau Schneider, Asbeck, Richter Consulting and Funklandtechnik. And, as part of its expansion in Switzerland, Extricom has signed its first channel partners, Wassmer and Zürcher.
"Our reseller and partner base is critical to our success in the region," explained Wilfried Schon. "Our partners have already generated significant interest in the Extricom solutions, and we therefore anticipate rapid growth in our customer based in the region."
Extricom designs and manufactures enterprise Wireless LAN infrastructure solutions for converged data, voice (VoWLAN), and video. The Extricom Interference-Free(TM) architecture enables dramatically easier WLAN deployment and lower total cost of ownership, while achieving a generational leap in capacity, coverage, seamless mobility and security performance for Wi-Fi. The result is a large-scale, 802.11 standards-based WLAN infrastructure delivering enterprise-wide triple play services, with the dependability of a wired network. Extricom is privately held, with strategic investors that include Motorola. Inquiries: http://www.extricom.com
