BOZEN, Sud-Tirol, Italy, April 19, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Health Robotics today announced the outstanding results reported by one of its American partners, Health Robotics Canada Inc. (HRCI) first trimester of operations since its inception in December 2009. These impressive results included new contracts in North America for seven i.v.STATION, six i.v.SOFT, one CytoCare, and one I.V. Room of the Future, quickly eclipsing in its first three months of existence all the other I.V. Automation companies that have been present in the field of North American I.V. Robotics for the past 22 years, including IHS/RIVA[1].

HRCI had an outstanding first quarter of operations, quickly establishing itself as the leader in the North American I.V. Automation sector, including an agreement with CHUM to pioneer the 1st viable I.V. Robot installation in Canada in July. Notably, HRCI also signed a joint-development agreement with The Cleveland Clinic Foundation for the first I.V. Room of the Future project in America. For a European that graduated from a Clinical Engineering school in the United States where I came to share cross-atlantic biomedical engineering experiences many years ago, thanks to HRCI it is indeed a great honor to return and partner with top-rated medical institutions in America, with the clear goal to develop global centers of excellence for the I.V. Room of the Future, not only with Health Robotics' world-leading products, but also with best-in-class I.V. solutions from companies selected by us to participate in this project stated Werner Rainer, Health Robotics' CEO.

Our joint-venture partner HRCI also reported to Health Robotics contracts for installations of seven Health Robotics' i.v.STATION robots at Allegiance Health (Jackson, Michigan), The Brigham Women's Hospital (Boston), U Mass Memorial Hospital (Worcester), [these first 3 already installed by HRCI], Centre Hospitalier de l'Universite de Montreal [CHUM], Cottage Health System (Santa Barbara), The University of Colorado Hospital (Denver), and The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (Houston).

Additionally, HRCI reported signing 6 contracts for Beta Test/Validation installations of i.v.SOFT Assist, Cube, Label+, and Profile workflow software automation modules at The Brigham Women's Hospital in Boston, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Duke University Hospital in Durham, Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, The University of Chicago Medical Center, and The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Finally, several months after terminating its contract with Devon Robotics, the University of Colorado Hospital signed an agreement with HRCI [subsequently assigned to McKesson Automation, Health Robotics' exclusive North American partner for CytoCare] in order to upgrade to a new and improved version of CytoCare in May 2010.

As we quickly approach 100 global installations for our solutions, I'm glad to see that Health Robotics' first ever customer in America has recommitted itself to CytoCare, the only robot in the world proven to compound sterile hazardous I.V. Admixtures. Despite unfounded rumors maliciously spread by our competitors and our prior distributors that the new partnerships with McKesson and HRCI would signify the demise of Health Robotics in North America, to the contrary: HRCI's reported number and quality of contracts clearly show that HRCI quickly stepped-up to the plate signing 15 contracts in only 3 months, and beating IHS/RIVA to the 1st I.V. Robotics installation in IHS' home country of Canada [compared with no sales by Devon in the 15 months preceding HRCI's start], while McKesson has swiftly moved to provide responsive CytoCare customer support and is now poised to make significant gains in the market, concluded Mr. Rainer.
