deCarta, the leading supplier of software and services for the Location-Based Services (LBS) industry, today announced the appointment of Armin Fendrich as Vice President of Sales of EMEA (Europe, Middle East Africa). Fendrich will head up deCarta's operations throughout the EMEA region with an emphasis on increasing sales for LBS applications including personal navigation, mobile and fleet-tracking/MRM.

Fendrich joins deCarta from Nokia gate5 GmbH, a software provider of personal navigation services and LBS, where he was Director of PND Sales for EMEA and responsible for OEM software license business and sales as well as relationships with key vendors in the mobile computing and consumer electronics markets. Prior to joining Nokia, Fendrich held the position of Regional Director for Pinnacle Systems, where he successfully grew the business into the market leader for the EMEA region. Fendrich has over twenty years' experience in pan-European sales and marketing for US high-tech companies and has spent two years in the Silicon Valley where he was responsible for the US operation of German-based ELSA AG.
