Up for grabs is prize money of US$20,000, a US$13,000 package to the WSOP 2010 Main Event, and the opportunity to play against some of poker's greatest players. players qualified for the WSOP Main Poker Event through buy-ins ranging from 77 cents to US$535. One online poker player even qualified via a freeroll, having won entry by simply playing for 20 days during a promotion.

The special freeroll takes place on June 21, 2009, and is open to all winners of network packages to the WSOP main event. Only 21 poker players can qualify for the Celebrity Bounty Bash, so the online poker freeroll will be played until only these 21 remain. They will then go on to the live poker tournament at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas, on July 9, 2009.
