LONDON, January 29 /PRNewswire/ -- MyThings (http://www.MyThings.com), the global provider of product-related content for retailers and OEMs, announced today the acquisition of product review aggregation solution ViewScore.
MyThings will integrate with ViewScore's proprietary text analysis technology, which enables analysis and aggregation of many product reviews into one product score. ViewScore.com, which launched in 2006, is one of the most comprehensive product review databases available today.
MyThings, founded in 2005, has developed the most comprehensive post-purchase product-related content database, matched to its global registry of people's belongings. The company closed a $5 million B round in October 2008 led by Dotcorp Asset Management and London-based GP Bullhound Sidecar, together with all of the company's original investors, including Accel Partners and Carmel Ventures.
The integration of ViewScore's product review platform and technology into MyThings product suite is creating several new and exciting solutions for MyThings users and partners which will be launched shortly, said MyThings founder and CEO Benny Arbel.
We're excited to have ViewScore's technology and offering integrated with MyThings, resulting in the most comprehensive source of pre and post-sale product information available on the Internet, said ViewScore CEO Tomer Tzach. This acquisition will create new opportunities for ViewScore's proprietary technology and talented development team.
Founded in 2005, MyThings' mission is to provide retailers and OEMs with rich product-related content and services, optimized to drive conversions and boost retention. MyThings is now delivering its value directly into the retailer's own website through its Enhanced Account Page (EAP) and Enhanced Product Page (EPP) product suites. It also serves as a platform for rich-content, customized retargeting for its partners. MyThings is also a free online service for consumers that keeps track of purchases and belongings, and provides online storage of receipt, warranty and other documents, as well as access to post-purchase product-related content and services. MyThings also runs Trace.com, an international database of lost and stolen property used by the world's top auction houses and law enforcement agencies. MyThings has offices in London, England; Chicago, Illinois; and Tel Aviv, Israel.
ViewScore enables consumers to determine 'What to buy' based on analysis, ranking and aggregation of professional product reviews according to consumer attributes. Based on the most respected professional product reviews online, ViewScore's patent-pending TextScore(TM) artificial intelligence and natural language processing technology analyzes each product review. ViewScore then aggregates all reviews for each product and provides a ranking for each product in its product category.
ViewScore's founders, Ami Zivov, Nir Vaksman and Inon Henig, established the company to help make the purchase decision process simpler and easier without reading tens of product reviews for each product being considered.
