"Superheroes of Nursing" shows appreciation to nurses; contest received 62 nominations and 1,355 votes on Facebook during four-month period

Launched during Nurses Week 2011 (May 6-12), the contest was part of a nationwide campaign to recognize nurses who represent four key categories - The Validators, The Achievers, The Educators and The
Protectors - and identify how they address the issues they face daily. - The Validator: Judy McHugh, Nursing Quality Improvement Coordinator at Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago, Ill. - The Achiever: Amy Richardson, Charge RN at Maury Regional Medical Center, Columbia, Tenn. - The Educator: Ronald Oman, Educator at Grays Harbor Community Hospital Aberdeen, Wash. - The Protector: April Morris, Charge Nurse Neonatal Intensive Care at Woman's Hospital, Baton Rouge, La.
