COPENHAGEN, September 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Seven of Sennheiser Communications' headsets have been certified and approved under the ergonomic and environmental label TCO'07. Sennheiser Communications' range of call centre and office headsets - the BW 900, SH 300, SH 330, SH 350, CC 510, CC 520 - and the Bluetooth headset VMX 100, have now earned the right to bear the Swedish quality label based on their usability, performance and low environmental impact. TCO specifically recognised Sennheiser's patented ActiveGard(TM), technology that protects the user's hearing from high-pitched sounds and sudden surges in sound level.

Perhaps because many of TCO's testers are occupational health experts they felt the Sennheiser Communications headsets deserved a special mention for protecting people's hearing so effectively. And the high sound quality can also contribute to reducing the environmental impact of Sennheiser Communications' headsets. Jan Rudling, Managing Director of TCO Development, explains:

"Headsets with high sound quality are essential for good telephone and video conferences, which help decrease travel and in turn, CO(2) emissions. This means the TCO label makes it easier for consumers to select a headset that stands for good quality for both user and the environment."

Sennheiser Communications designs products with the user and modern working environment in mind

TCO's labelling helps the user spot high quality and environmentally-friendly products. As Guido Karbautzki, Sennheiser Communications' Head of Sales & Marketing Communications, explains, "It's great that TCO agrees our headsets are comfortable, safe and meet the demands of the modern working environment. With the TCO certification, our customers will know they're looking at a quality headset before they've even taken it out of the box."

TCO '07 sets quality and environmental standards internationally

The TCO label is found throughout the world. Aiming to influence the development of office products, the TCO labelling system promotes user-friendliness and low environmental impact. TCO'07, the standard specific to headsets, ensures that a product protects users from hazardous impulse noise and guarantees that the headset is durable, ergonomic and easy to use.
