NEW YORK, October 13, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Organizers of TED's European conference, TEDGlobal, today announced that TEDGlobal 2011 will move from Oxford, England, to Edinburgh, Scotland. The move signals a permanent change of locale in order to provide more space and flexibility for conference efforts.

TEDGlobal successfully took place three times in Oxford, and we love the city for its rich historical and cultural roots, said Bruno Giussani, TED's European Director. The decision to move was made after much deliberation. We're grateful to the city of Oxford for three happy years and are looking forward to TEDGlobal's next chapter in Edinburgh.

Themed The Stuff of Life, TEDGlobal 2011 (July 11-15, 2011) will use the Edinburgh International Conference Center (EICC) as its main hub of activity. The EICC comprises three theatres and offers flexibility for the many activities planned around TEDGlobal: TED University, TEDx workshops, the TED Fellows conference, arts and tech exhibits, simulcast lounges, networking spaces and more.

While the new location offers more space to spread out, as in previous years, the conference will maintain its intimate feeling, with attendance remaining at 800 participants. Limited space is still available.
