About David I am an experienced Physicist, a Chartered Physicist, a Member of the Institute of Physics and a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. My background in physics includes a degree in Theoretical Physics from Leeds University, a MSc in Astrophysics from Queen Mary's and Westfield College, London and a Doctorate from Kings College, London. My own personal research interests include discrete quantum gravity and lattice quantum gravity.

I am an experienced science teacher, author and curriculum developer. My most recent educational work has been with the Nuffield KS3 STEM project at the Nuffield foundation as a STEM education consultant and author. This work included developing STEM educational resources based on the Olympic games, including a forensic science unit and a unit based on console games. Other recent work includes writing resources for Sheffield University's Spacelink on the NASA The return to the Moon project and the colonisation of Mars. I was a Head of Science in a number of secondary schools for over 20 years and taught Physics and Mathematics at all levels.

I am highly proficient in the use of ICT, including interactive boards and software packages. My ICT skills developed over a number of years designing websites for teachers’ courses, developing multimedia materials for school intranets, undertaking commercial work writing software and developing websites for eCommerce. My knowledge also developed through more formal studies for a BSc in Information technology and computing and a certificate in web applications from the Open University.

My knowledge of science education developed during by research work into the professional development of science teachers and the design of INSET courses. My studies for an MA in Leadership and management have given me the ability to both lead projects and work collaboratively within a team-working environment.

I have continued to study a range of subjects at graduate and postgraduate level and have broad understanding of and interest in science, mathematics, information technology and management.
