Professor Mark R. Smith
About Professor Mark Professor Mark R Smith, Physicist: A Nuclear Fusion Physicist and Astrophysicist dealing with some of the most majestic themes known to science. Among these are the evolution of the universe from the Big Bang to the present day; the origin and evolution of planets, stars, galaxies, and the elements themselves; the unity of basic physical law; and the connection between the subatomic properties of nature and the observed macroscopic universe. Astrophysics is important to Thermonuclear Fusion on Earth because the way the Sun and other stars in the universe operate relies on nuclear fusion to produce heat, light and plasma. Nuclear Fusion on Earth is being researched in order to produce vast amounts of energy for power generation of the future and thereby address the shortage of energy needs worldwide. Other research interests include: Black Holes and Supermassive Black Holes Gravitational Waves from merging Black Holes and Neutron stars Hubble Constant and the Expanding Universe Dark Energy Dark Matter.
