This is an internet joke event. Lots of people saying they will go just for the fun of it. Out of those 2 million or more, it would be a surprise if 50 actually turn up. This is what they plan to do, a Naruto run
UPDATE - THE EVENT GOT CANCELLED
The music festival event got canceled, and the original organizers say to stay away saying:
“If any event still happens it is going to be a pretty sad affair with no bands, very little infrastructure and a lot of unhappy campers,”
It kooks like the local inn is going to stage some kind of a party with "20 bands, two comedians, vendors, and a haunted house." but most of it is going to happen in Las Vegas instead.
There is no way anyone is going to try charging area 51 across a marathon distance of desert with their heads down and hands trailing behind their backs. That is just a joke, always was a joke.

UPDATE - IS NOW A THREE DAY MUSIC FESTIVAL 20TH TO 22ND SEPTEMBER
It's now warped into a three day music festival. Admission free of charge. Which the creator of the Facebook event calls the "safe alternative". Just a fun event.
INTERNET JOKE EVENT
The rest of this is the original article as written around July 12th 2019.
They are just going to run towards it in a crowd over 26 miles of hot desert and rough terrain with their hands trailing behind their backs. Very easy to stop. They'd most likely give up before they run a mile. The distance from the perimeter fence to the base, 26 miles, is the same length as a marathon, and across rough terrain in much harsher conditions.
This is the landscape they would be planning to run a marathon across in that unusual style of running, or along a narrow road:
Come at me, bro. Photo by notevenathing
They are not going to keep it up for 26 miles and they would be easy to stop.
Meanwhile if necessary the army fly in reinforcements with rubber bullets, riot shields, tear gas if necessary, to stop them. However, I can hardly see that happening.
Rather, if foolhardy people were to try to run for many miles across that terrain, with their hands behind their back like that in the desert heat, they would likely need rescuing, airlifting out probably, and then face a fine and a getting a criminal record as a result.
They claim in the Facebook post that this style of running lets you run faster than a bullet. Of course it’s not true at all. Usain Bolt doesn’t run like this :).
It is named after the unique running style of the anime character Naruto
This is a fan who tested whether running like this is any faster than ordinary running
These people won’t have guns. They won't be killing people. It is intentionally very very silly. Probably many will be wearing costumes of anime characters.
Not gong to get 500k people turn up. Will be lucky if 50 turn up. As for the idea of aliens, it is just a cover story to hide their secret aircarft tests - more on that later.
The US military are forewarned of course on the very remote chance. If needs be, they would use crowd control - riot shields, rubber bullets, and tear gas. These people wont have guns. They won't be killing people. It is intentionally very very silly.
We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets see them aliens.
More background here:
Also, it’s 26 miles of open desert, from the perimeter to the base, to run with your arms behind you like Naruto :). With convenience stores not likely to have enough food and water for more than 50 people at a time, little by way of bathroom facilities, and hardly any hotels.
Most people untrained in desert travel would have difficulty crossing even a single mile on foot during the day in the open desert, let alone the 26 miles from Highway 95 near Goldfield to the classified airfield at Area 51. Navigation in the desert, the heat, and especially the terrain would tax even the best athlete in this environment. Most people have a tough time walking a few miles in the Midwest on a mild day if their car breaks down. In the open Nevada desert, they probably wouldn’t survive the experience.
Finally, there is the issue of logistics. Every town surrounding the Nevada Test and Training Range is very small, most with either one or two small stores stocking water and food with public bathroom facilities. There are very few hotels in the area since there is little to see and such oppressive security. The few convenience stores around the outer perimeter of the area likely only have a few hundred bottles of water in stock, nowhere near enough food and water to support a crowd of more than 50 people at a time. So, if you plan to be one of the several hundred thousand people “storming Area 51”, be sure to bring your own snacks and a cooler. And ice. Plenty of ice.
This is another article I'm writing to support people we help in the Facebook Doomsday Debunked group, that find us because they get scared, sometimes to the point of feeling suicidal about it, by such stories.
Do share this with your friends if you find it useful, as they may be panicking too.
WHAT IS AREA 51?
Area 51 is used to test fly advanced spacecraft, e.g. ones that evade radar detection. Some are very strange looking such as this early stealth plane

This is a post in Airspace magazine by William B. Scott who has been researching what goes on there since the 1900s, he talks about many mysterious planes, but on UFO’s he says it is encouraged as a cover for their test flights of secret plane designs:
However, it’s clear to me that the UFO phenomenon is used to protect the base’s deepest secrets. I once was advised that if I wanted clues about real-world classified aircraft projects, I should read the supermarket tabloids. If a hiker spotted a new airplane during a test flight near Groom and talked about it openly, the story might appear in one of the tabloids—although wrapped in a wild tale, complete with grainy photos of flying saucers and alien beings. I once asked a Groom test pilot whether tainting classified-aircraft sightings with the UFO stench was ever done intentionally. He smiled and replied: “It’s worked for 50 years. Why would we change now?” Without question, black-world operators have become masters of such deception to protect their work. As a result, Groom Lake will likely retain its secrets for a very long time.
If aliens wanted to visit Earth their spaceships would not crash. They wouldn’t land in person anyway, they’d send robots or telerobots. Not unless they were very sure that our biology and theirs are compatible and that we would not harm them in any way.
It would make no sense to land in a way that endangered them or let themselves be captured by us. And if they wanted to they could do that in a way that we can’t see at all using swarms of nanobots or some such, possibly some technology we haven’t even thought of yet.
ROSWELL ALIENS AND ALIEN AUTOPSY
The alien autopsy clip is a rather famous hoax that fooled a few people for some years. It’s a bit gruesome if you are easily squeamish
It is the work of a sculptor who used to work on Doctor Who called John Humphrey. He used sheep's entrails, jam, and various other materials filmed in a disused flat in London made up to look like a medical facility by using props such as are used for hospital dramas.
This is a recent story in Metro magazine, not always the most reliable of sources - but they do genuine stuff too and this is the most recent I can find about it,
The Roswell incident was a crash of a surveillance balloon used to investigate nuclear tests. This is how it was described:
It was, in Brazel’s words, “a large area of bright wreckage made up of rubber strips, tinfoil, and rather tough paper, and sticks.”
The metallic-looking, lightweight fabric was scattered, shredded across the gravel and sagebrush of the New Mexico desert. Brazel didn’t know what to do with the newfound items, or how they had landed on the property, so on July 4 he collected all of the mysterious wreckage he could find. On July 7, he drove it all to Roswell, delivering the goods to Sheriff George Wilcox.
This highly classified program consisted of high altitude balloons sent up in to the upper atmosphere to check for the Russian nuclear tests - the Russians didn’t have the bomb until 1949 but back in 1947 the US didn’t know that. The balloons were twice as tall as the statue of liberty and with a long line trailed behind them equipped with sensors and listening devices.
This was a time when flying saucers were all the rage and rather than admit to this classified program, the US airforce claimed that they had recovered a UFO.
“The intelligence office of the 509th Bombardment Group at Roswell Army Air Field announced at noon today, that the field has come into the possession of a Flying Saucer.”
WHY YOU DON’T NEED TO FEAR AN ALIEN INVASION
See my debunk:
I think the main reason not to be scared of them is that there is no evidence even of them setting foot on the Moon or Mars and no sign of their presence anywhere in the solar system. As we’ll see, if you look at the timescales involved, it’s absurdly unlikely they get here just now, but would have to have been here for millions of years. This means either that they are not here or that they have a strict non interference policy and erase all traces of their presence and are so hidden we can't see them. Either way there is nothing to be scared of.
