CHESSINGTON, England, March 25, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Selima, a provider of HR software solutions to the public sector, has signed a new multi-year agreement with the hosted managed service (http://www.cloudcomputingcentre.co.uk/Company/Cloud-Services/Cloud-Hosting/) provider, the Cloud Computing Centre, http://www.cloudcomputingcentre.co.uk , to provide Cloud-based services ( http://www.cloudcomputingcentre.co.uk/Company/Cloud-Services/) to host and manage its customers' payroll, HR and expense management software in a secure Cloud (http://www.cloudcomputingcentre.co.uk/Company/The-Cloud-Explained/).

Selima chose to work with the Cloud Computing Centre based on its ability to provide a fully secure, hosted managed service offering for its customers. Graham Whitehouse, Managing Director at Selima explains, The public sector has been at the centre of several instances of data loss over the past 18 months, making security a key issue in any new IT project. Amongst Cloud-based services providers, the Cloud Computing Centre has a fantastic infrastructure, backed up by ISO27001 accreditation. This adds greater confidence for us in their ability to run the solution in the cloud as a 'seamless' extension of our services.

Selima specialises in offering solutions for the human resource department, covering the areas of HR, payroll and expense management. The company was purchased last year by PremierEnvoy (provider of expense management solutions) to manage its software and service offerings from offices in Manchester, Sheffield and London. The company specialises in providing solutions to the public sector, with a number of large public sector customers including the Royal Borough of Kingston and Rhondda Cynon Taf, as well as a number of clients in the private sector, such as NG Bailey.

Whitehouse continues, As we are dealing with highly sensitive HR and payroll information on a daily basis, it is imperative that our customer's data is secure, backed up and always available, which is a key element of what the Cloud Computing Centre was able to offer us with their hosted managed service.

Previously Selima used a traditional hosting service where hardware was purchased, put in racks within a data centre, with Selima managing the entire process. Whitehouse explains, We wanted to upgrade the way we hosted solutions for our customers to truly Cloud-based services and needed a partner that could improve our infrastructure management and virtualise environments more effectively, providing improved connectivity and support within a secure Cloud.

The Cloud Computing Centre is a privately-owned provider of services to hundreds of companies with many thousands of users across the UK. The Centre maintains over 500 managed servers requiring petabytes of data storage capacity.

Whitehouse adds, We believe the Cloud is the key growth area for our business over the next five years; we already have approximately 15 of our customers in the Cloud and many more are looking to make the move. As interest in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model continues to grow we are looking forward to expanding on our hosted managed service partnership with the Cloud Computing Centre to integrate them further into our sales and support teams.

I would describe the Cloud Computing Centre as friendly, efficient professionals. We have a great relationship with the team and believe that having them alongside us in customer meetings providing their expertise to potential customers, will prove to be an invaluable asset to our sales activity, concludes Whitehouse.
