Adeleke Adeyemi
About Adeleke A Nigeria-based science journalist, Leke had a stint in Biochemistry before earning a degree in Geology. He’s also done TV and Leadership Studies. A 2009 IDRC/SciDev.Net Science Journalism Internship Award runner-up, he was in Kenya with 7 other African science journalists, courtesy the UK Govt.’s DFID, for Advanced Better Science Reporting training in September 2009. His articles on malaria have appeared in “Eyes on Malaria,” the e-journal of African Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN), as well as AllAfrica.com web portal. He has reported on rapid malaria diagnostic tools in development in Canada, among other issues. “Keep Malaria On the Run” and “One Little Mosquito” are two songs he wrote and co-produced for the album “Make Public Health Enemy Number One--Malaria Pheno.Me?Non--History!” for rousing children to action against malaria. ‘Leke coordinates AMMREN activities in Nigeria. He’s also Country Manager (Nigeria), Café Scientifique: a worldwide initiative aimed at raising science literacy in society. He is Writer and Producer of “Daughters of Curie,” an educational Science ‘Reality TV’ programme on women science pioneers and practitioners around the world; also “Science Is On Your Side (SIOYS)”, a Science Quiz and Debating show on radio and TV, and "Field Trip" , an ER-type TV series, coming soon. His "Wangari's Wager," an environmental thriller, is due out shortly.
