About Catherine Catherine is an earth scientist specializing in glacial fluvial geomorphology who has worked on science and technology policy; environmental policy; and climate change impacts, vulnerability, and adaptation over the last few years. Jobs with the US National Research Council, Canadian Foreign Affairs, Friends of the Earth Canada, Greenpeace International, and the United Nations Environment Programme have sent her all around the world. She has written about Earth and Environmental Sciences from the Arctic, Afghanistan, and Africa and for three years was coordinating editor for the UNEP Year Book. She then authored and edited the Climate Change Science Compendium for UNEP and WMO. IN 2011 she worked in the Tibetan region of Sechuan Province, China assessing the implications for high altitude agricultural potential from climate change and became a Senior Consultant for the International Ecosystem Management Partnership, a collaborative center established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and UNEP.
