I have a new book out on amazon this month called Thor's Anvil Revealed. It documents a secret and strange theory about what causes lightning. I say 'secret' because I saw something on a NASA press release in march of 2003 that subsquently disappeared from every where.

You try to Google kite lightning and you don't get anything. I have been told by many that I misinterpeted what I saw. The minds that BE said that I saw a picture of a sprite or a blue jet of lightning but the model that I built from the picture that NASA showed works quite well.
