About Ethan
I have a varied background in cell biology, neuroscience, psychology, linguistics, mathematics, physics, and computer science. Currently, I'm studying self-organization and the relationship between information and energy in complex, emergent systems, such as organisms, egos, and economies.
Of course, I expect these studies to be relevant to learning and neuroscience much more generally. So I spend a lot of time thinking about chemistry, codes, and cognition.
But I am fundamentally interested in understanding information flows in complex systems and using this understanding to inform human decision making and the construction of a sustainable society.
