About Gerold Educational background: Engineering. BS Applied Mechanics UCSD 1981, MSME UCI 1984 (Fluids and Thermal Science). That is still how I earn my daily bread, doing contract engineering, but my primary interest for the last 10 years has been the development of a new model of human culture using the insights of complexity theory to finally bring culture into full four-dimensional relief. This blog is part of the process of writing a book that will open up a new dimension in the study of man and men, male and female, body and spirit. By seeing culture as a Complex Adaptive System operating fractalwise on multiple (often self-similar) levels simultaneously, exolving over time, a new level of insight into human nature and history can be gained.
