About Kevin Welcome to "Chemistry and Policy", where I hope to discuss the interconnections between chemistry and public policy. I am particularly interested in how the scientific community describes their work to the larger world and how that message in turn helps shape policy. I am a chemist and graduate student at the California Institute of Technology. In the lab I work on better understanding olefin metathesis, a reaction utilized throughout the chemical community in everything from plastics to pharmaceuticals.
