About Kurt Background Kurt Kammerer has over 18 years of diverse experience in the energy field including business development, technology and program development and implementation. For the past 8 years, Kammerer has operated his own consulting practice, which has been instrumental in supporting the development of several successful regional energy programs throughout California. Most recently, Kammerer’s firm was selected by the Southern California Association of Public Power Utilities (SCPPA) to providing its member agencies an innovative vending machine energy efficiency program which has been successfully implemented in the cities of Riverside, Glendale, Azusa, Burbank and the Imperial Irrigation District. From 1998 through 2003, he led the unprecedented growth of the San Diego Regional Energy Office (now known as the California Center for Sustainable Energy). Kammerer played a key role in the development and implementation of local government-based and regional programs in the Ventura, Orange, Los Angeles, Humboldt, San Diego, Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties. This includes authoring the 2006 Regional Energy Plan for the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG), completing a Regional Energy Assessment Report that formed the basis of the Humboldt County 2005 Energy Element of the General Plan, and authoring the San Diego Regional Energy Strategy, a comprehensive 30-year integrated resource plan for the San Diego region that was adopted by the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) in 2003. Responsible for profit/loss while managing up to 20 employees and several contractors developing and implementing energy efficiency, demand response and self-generation programs under contract to utilities and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the California Energy Commission (CEC).
