(Degree Moyen) from French School-Foyer de soldat in Pondicherry and Graduated in B.Sc., (Zoology) Tagore Arts College (TAC) in Pondicherry Central University. And as Multipurpose Health Worker (Male) in Pondicherry, Government General Hospital, under the Board of Medical Education, Pondicherry for period of two years and obtained Diploma in Multipurpose Worker (DMPWS). I had also completed B.A. in Hindi (Rasthra Bhasha Praveen Poorvardh) from Dhakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras. I had obtained Post-Graduate Diploma in Science and Technology Communication (PGDST&C)-Pondicherry Central University in Centre for Science and Technology, and worked in the six months project entitled “Studies of AIDS–Campaign in the Union Territory State of Pondicherry”-(1997-1998) under the guidance the Lecturer Mr. P. Thirumal. I was awarded M.S. (Ecology,1998-2000) from Pondicherry Central University in Salim Ali School of Ecology and Environmental Sciences and worked in two year research project entitled “Studies on the East Coast of Tamil Nadu and its Environs-III (1998-2000)” under the guidance and supervision of Professor Dr. C.B.S.R. Sharma. Other minor projects were part of theory and practical papers in course are in different disciplines in Ecology and Environmental ranging from structural and functional aspects of ecosystem to computer modelling and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Research Profile: Presently working as a Environmental Engineer in the M/s. Mukesh & Associates-Architects & Engineers-No.11, Second Floor, Ist Cross, Ajees Nagar, Reddiyarpalayam, Pondicherry, India. Now, I am engaged in the project-“Study on Environmental Impact Assessment and Management Plan for the Proposed Fish Markets at Puducherry, Karaikkal. And the Project completedforthe-Environmental Assessment and Management Plan for the Proposed Improvements to the Existing Fish Markets at Puducherry-Funded by Government of Puducherry through Emergency Tsunami Reconstruction Project (ETRP), Project Implementation Agency (PIA) Submitted on Sep. 2009 and Feb.2010. I had worked as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) from 2005 to 2008 in the Gujarat Institute of Desert Ecology (GUIDE), Bhuj, Kachchh, Gujarat, in the research project entitled “Assessment of Biodiversity and Preparation of Conservation plan for the Forests of North Gujarat Region (NGR)”-2005. Under the Principle Investigator Dr. Justus Joshua, Scientist & Dr.S.F.Wesley Sunderraj, Senior Scientist Cum Deputy Director, Funded by Ministry and Environment of Forests (MoE&F)-New-Delhi. Major responsibility in the above project was Mammals diversity, habitat use, ecological parameter, Threatened faced mammals species and their status. This includes using-Camera and Sherman or box traps, tracing of pug marks and recording indirect evidences like tracks, scats, dropping, dung and pellets beside this recording of wild animals road kill and Wood cut count around the forest area. As a researcher in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) a project entitled “Ecological appraisal on Floral and Faunal status in and around Gujarat Ambuja Cement Ltd-Kodinar-Junagardh, Gujarat. Under Principle Investigator Dr. S.F.Wesley Sunderraj & Dr. Justus Joshua, Scientist-Funded by Ambuja Cement Foundation - Kodinar. I had worked as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) from 2001 to 2004 in the Kalakkad-Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR), Southern Western Ghats, of Tamil Nadu, Manommainam Sundanarar University Tirunelveli and Forest Department, funded by the Word bank under Forestry Research Education and Extension Project (FREEP)-Research project entitled “Study on Biodiversity and Sociological Assessment and Monitoring of Eco-Development Initiatives in Kalakkad-Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR)-2002”. Under the Principle Investigator Dr. M.B. Viswanathan. Major responsibilities in Mammals diversity related to predator species like Tiger (Panthera tigris), Leopard (Panthera pardus) and Wild dog (Cuon alpinus) and prey species Spotted deer (Axis axis) and Sambar (Cervus unicolor) and improvement of their habitat and their rise in population in relation to Eco-Development in the buffer zones of Kalakkad-Mundanthurai reserve in the Southern Western Ghats of India. Educational Career: Latchoumanan Muthu Andavan born on 13th November, 1972 in Union Territory Pondicherry earned B.Sc., Zoology from the Pondicherry Central University and M.S. Ecology, also from the same University and Ph. D. in Environmental Sciences from University of Madras. He was a Research Assistant while doing M.S. Ecology course in the Road Ecology and Environmental Project from Madras to Kanayakumarai. He had attended National conference Jammu and Calcutta in 1998 and 1999 under Ecological Programme and joined as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Centre for Environmental Sciences, Alwarkurichi, Tirunalveli, Tamil Nadu India affiliated by the Manomanniam University later he joined as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in Gujarat Institute of Desert Ecology (GUIDE), Bhuj, Kachchh district of Gujarat. He had contributed several research articles; papers on the Tiger paper, Journal of Animal sciences, Zoo out reach Journal. He presented papers at the National and State level seminars and co-authors in several research articles. He had involved in wildlife Ecology i.e., Prey-predator relationship in the Kalakkad- Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR), Southern Western Ghats of India and also in North Gujarat Region of Gujarat, the main objective was to study Mammals and its Ecology. He also involved in Environmental Impact Assessment studies in a. Gujarat Ambuja Cement Limited (GACL) Kodinar district of Gujarat, India. b. Environmental Impact Studies of Flora and Fauna in and around the Tata Chemical Limited (TCL) –Porbander, Gujarat. c. Jakkau Salt Limited, Bhuj, Kachchh district, Gujarat. d.
