About mike I am a 52 year old male without a tangible education a brief attempt at a BSc. For one year I paid for classes with a major of Chem, minors of Physics and Maths, at U of A in Canada, After an almost effortless accumulation of nearly enough credits to graduate high school, I was ill equipped for the reality of secondary education, which required commitment, hard work, and long hours. I became even more confused, and turned to a life of sports and menial labor, where I excelled for months at a time. Eventually, I moved around, became married but didn't have kids then quickly divorced, and more or less just practiced being one of the boys - being a blue collar jock and drinking. Lately, I have developed a desire for network and info management and have begun part time studies geared towards achieving a degree in computer science. I've spent about 5 years doing tech work on PCes, and mild website development, all learned on the internet. I have nothing concrete to bring to Science 2.0 other than an aptitude for physical science, and just lately, philosophy. Most of my comments at various blogs are essays, but I've been asked to register here in order to explain what's up to the lads here, and seeing my brief comments in the discussions are generally the size of chapters in a text book, or an essay by Bertrand Russel, but never mistaken for either, this seems like a good idea at the time. I have much writings that I would like to post and possibly discuss, some perhaps original, on ethics and co-operation, will, concept of self, and the problem of overcoming the drive for financial and political power as the primary driving force both inside of, and between, societies. This is a grave concern, almost as important as being witty.
