About Rachel
3rd year PhD student with Maynooth University & awarded the John and Pat Hume Postgraduate Scholarship at Maynooth University. Specializing in Linguistic & Digital Anthropology, my research looks at the human relations and linguistic discourse in relation to specific genera of digital gaming - fighting games - and the unique Irish gaming community that has built themselves up around these games! Personal interest in animal welfare and the relationships between humans and animals, especially the human-canine relationship.
