Philosophy in Iberia
About Teresa I am a senior researcher at the Philosophy Centre of the University of Lisbon, with the LanCog research group. From October 2014, I will be a Marie Curie fellow with the Philosophy of Law Group of the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. I am also an associate of the LOGOS group in Barcelona.

In the past, I have held appointments at the Universities of Lisbon, of Barcelona and of Maryland - University College Europe. I received my PhD in Philosophy from Stirling. My dissertation was on the principle of bivalence and truth-value gaps. I also studied at the Universities of Lisbon, where I received a BA, and St. Andrews, where I received an MLitt (in the SASP graduate programme).

I am interested, broadly, on theories of truth and content, and on how we can get things wrong and fail to communicate. I specialize in philosophy of language, philosophical logic, and metaphysics, and I'm also interested in feminist philosophy. I have published on the ambiguity of negation, bivalence and paradoxes, singular reference and object-dependent thoughts, relativism, disagreement, and the content vs. force/mode distinction. My recent work focuses on the nature of practical disagreements, retractions, and on social categories and social construction.
