About Dan Mid-50's "science-junkie"! I am somewhat reasonably versed in everything from Astrophysics & Astronomy to Zoology & Xenobiology. My mind "seethes" with something akin to the "quantum-soup" of space, where these myriad factoids and speculations will just pop-into a solid idea (energy ~ process ~ intuition ~ constructive potential ~ hypothesis/theory/reality). Similar in the way that the pervasive quantum probability (given sufficient energy) randomly "drops" subatomic particles in & out of our realm of existance in nanosecond timescales. I grew up in a couple of small Northern Calif. towns (Vacaville: means "Cowtown" in Spanish)& Sebastopol on the Russian River near Bodega Bay (where Alfred Hitchcock filmed "The Birds"). What I call my "wonder bread years" (ages 13 to 20 yrs.) were the years 1965 to 1972 ... and the Russian River was just one commune after another all the way to the Pacific Ocean amidst the magnificent California Redwood forests. SO .... YES!!! I grew-up as a Hippie: and 'once a hippie, always a hippie'!!! The peyote & 'shrooms & such that I consumed, I did so for the opening of "Universal Experience". Once others began using them solely for "recreational purposes", I stopped. I had been practicing yoga & meditation daily (2x/day) for years and felt totally unafraid to enter the very real realm of altered psychotropically induced experience. Since the Eastern philosophies & the Gnostics have always been the keystones of my existential leanings, my experiences were supremely beneficial. I have long been consciously aware that our limited sensory input, and the neurophysiological "lag-time" (m/sec)to filter & process that information never allows us as physical beings to experience the actual moment of "NOW" ... we are always slightly behind and so extrapolate much of what we routinely call "reality". Anyhow, I am engrossed by all aspects of the physical sciences and tend to modify my observations with he knowledge that what I am viewing is NOT what I am observing (Heisenberg).
