Dr. K. Vishwanath is seed biologist. His PhD was entitled “Studies on varietal characterization based on morphological, biochemical and molecular markers in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum (L.) Mill.)”. He has worked on a variety of plant projects including: 1. Standardization of electrophoresis techniques to characterize genotypes of less investigated crops viz., Finger millet and field bean, 2. Genetic purity testing of rice hybrid seeds using electrophoreses techniques.
