About V.T. Served as Associate Professor at Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Principal Scientist at Central Institute for Cotton Research and Project Coordinator of All India Coordinated Research Project for Cotton Improvement [ICAR] in the country. Graduated from the Madras University and Tamilnadu Agricultural University. Research: Bio chemical causes for induced reproductive failure in female insect, Spodoptera litura were worked out. Effects of Global warming (Enrichment of Co2), Antifeedant, Insect hormone on the development of insect pests and cause for the failure of parasites in the Biological control of coconut insect were investigated for developing eco-friendly insect management system. Use of Isotope in Insect for ecological, reproductive, pathological studies was piloted. Integrated pest management system for Coconut pests, Cotton insects, environment friendly naturally Coloured cotton hybrid and a dwarf Cotton hybrid "Sruthi"and variety “Indica” were developed. The causes for out break of White fly in the cotton system and the utility of sugar factory effluents in insect management were established. Hypotheses & Theories proposed: (1). The phenomenon of ‘Exploitation’ is the main cause for the development of caste system in the Indian Society. (2). The genetic purity of cotton seeds may be assessed on the ‘basic proteins’ pattern of seeds. (3). ‘Gene to Gene action' for outbreak of insects of agricultural importance. (4). Involvement of growth inhibitor with Endocrine metabolism in insects.
