About Wallace Wallace Kaufman writes frequently about science, environmental and economic issues, and attendant literature. His latest book is "Invasive Plants" (Stackpole Books) co-authored with his daughter Dr. Sylvan Ramsey Kaufman. He is also the author of "No Turning Back: Dismantling the Fantasies of Environmental Thinking" (Basic Books, 1995), Coming Out of the Woods: The Solitary Life of a Maverick Naturalist (Perseus Books, 2001), and "The Beaches Are Moving" (Doubleday 1979, Duke University Press 1984), co-authored with Dr. Orrin Pilkey. Kaufman has held a Science Writing Fellowship at the Marine Biology Lab in Woods Hole. He has also served as resident adviser on housing and land reform in Kazakhstan and consulted on ecotourism in Siberia and the Caribbean.
