- International Conference to be Held in Dresden in January 2009

Enormous differences exist worldwide in the protection of workers' safety and health. How these differences might be reduced will be the subject of an international strategy conference to be held from 28 to 30 January 2009 at the Academy Dresden of the DGUV. The conference is intended for experts in occupational safety and health from the EU Member States, other industrial nations, and emerging economies. The focus is to be on the discussion of national, European and global OSH strategies. Besides papers and discussion panels, the programme also includes workshops in which the participants will analyse scope for the development, implementation and evaluation of national strategies.

The conference is being organized by the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) and the International Association of Labour Inspection (IALI).
