About Praveen I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park. My work was in understanding flames subject to heat losses arising from heat source terms, affording many possibilities to apply asymptotic and perturbation theory in order to make them tractable. I therefore have a strong interest in using ideas in partial differential equations (such as convolutions, which played a key role in my work). Professionally, I am a software engineer and computational scientist. I nurture hopes of propagating developments in other fields (such as graphics, and machine learning) back to fluid dynamics and computation and radiation transport, with a theoretical contribution here and there. I would also like to write about these aspects so as to present my perspective and understanding, hoping to emphasize how the equations translate to physical problems.
