Email: ngdgf_nature@yahoo.com Around 70 percent of the rural population lives in villages and uses biomass for fuel. The proper studies on the use of biomass as fuel by the villages are lacking. Hence during the present investigation as survey was carried out on the use of biomas s by the villages in and around Jaipur district and especially in village Lalsot approximately 70 km from Jaipur. The identification of biomass it productivity and its utilization was studied in detail and its impact on environmental damage was assessed . Suggestions for the alternative sources of energy shall be presented which will save the enviroment and provide clean fuel to the people.
