LONDON, October 28 /PRNewswire/ -- BancTec, Inc., a global provider of advanced, high-volume, document and payment processing solutions and services, has signed a distribution agreement with Moscow-based PIRIT to sell BancTec solutions in Russia and other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, including Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The agreement covers distribution of BancTec's highly acclaimed IntelliScan(R) and E-Series high-speed document scanning and sorting transports.

PIRIT has built a solid business in these emerging markets, and will provide an immediate presence for us that would have been difficult to develop otherwise, said Darren Riley, sales manager, EMEA Emerging Markets, BancTec. PIRIT's strong reputation as a provider of document management and scanning solutions, combined with our enterprise-scale product line, will create a winning combination for the region's largest organizations. We look forward to partnering with PIRIT to extend the range of solutions it provides and expanding BancTec's participation in the region.

BancTec is a well-known vendor of solutions that help organizations make their document and payment processing operations more efficient and cost-effective, said Natalya Vrublevskaya, marketing manager, PIRIT. BancTec's enterprise-scale solution expertise and our market coverage will serve customers well in the region.

Russia and the other CIS states have made significant improvements in recent years in building infrastructure, reducing the state's role in the economy, reforming the tax and financial systems and lessening their reliance on energy and raw materials. Still, strong legislative requirements necessitate much paperwork and recordkeeping, creating a need for high-speed transports that can scan documents and generate electronic archives, especially in large, document-intensive organizations.

PIRIT is well positioned to fulfill this need as it has an extensive customer base of administrative bodies (Presidential Administration, Federation Council and State Duma) and other large-scale organizations including ministries, banks, insurance companies, major manufacturers and universities.
