MUSCAT, Oman, July 15 -- Bringing together global experts to discuss the issues
related to establishing an integrated, tri-service logistics capability, Joint
Military Logistics will be held between the 4th-6th October 2009 at the Crowne
Plaza Hotel in Muscat, Oman.

It has become increasingly clear that in order to meet the challenge of
supporting military operations, military forces must eliminate stovepipes and
increase integration by collaborating within and across departments and
services. Establishing joint systems and processes will allow militaries to meet
the demands of guaranteeing the right supplies, to the right time at the right
time.

Joint Military Logistics will address the latest trends, effective strategies
and state of the art technology to successfully address these challenges and
achieve the desired outcomes, with a particular focus on advancing the
capabilities of the Middle East’s military forces.

International organisations who have already confirmed their participation,
include NATO, UK MoD, US Army, Agility Defense Government Services Inc. and
Inchcape Shipping Services.

Joanna Edwards, Divisional Director, Defence and Security, IQPC Middle East
says:

the US Department of Defense has defined joint logistics as the coordinated
use, synchronization, and sharing of two or more Military Departments’
logistic resources to support the joint force and this conference will be an
ideal opportunity for the region’s key decision makers to come together
and focus on exploiting this theory to maximise their capabilities.
