HARROGATE, England, March 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Shocking results from new research to be unveiled by the Acne Academy will reveal the extent of the psychological impact of growing up with acne. With 80% of the UK population suffering from acne at some point in their lives, this raw and revealing research exposes the burden placed on teenagers growing up with acne, sometimes affecting them for the rest of their lives.

Endorsed by TV actress and long term acne sufferer Lucy Speed (The Bill and Eastenders), Hilary Jones (GMTV) and TV doctors Dawn Harper (C4 Embarrassing Bodies) and developed in association with the Acne Academy's own independent Expert Panel including consultant dermatologists Alison Layton and Keith Freeman and GP expert Stephen Kownacki, the Acne Perceptions Report will lay bare latest facts about this much neglected, but infinitely treatable, skin disease. To present the new data, the panel will joined by top visiting U.S. psycho-dermatologist, Professor Eva Ritvo (Mount Sinai) and well known author and TV Parenting Coach, Judy Reith. A selection of patients are also available for interview.
