LONDON, October 28, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Ark Workplace Risk Ltd, the leading consultancy specialising in workplace, fire, health and safety risk, sustainability, business continuity and risk management software, announced today the results of a survey of health safety managers and facilities managers from large- and medium-sized London organisations including property owners, managers and tenants regarding preparations for the impending strike of the Fire Brigade Union in London.

Of the companies surveyed, only a minority of respondents are planning to implement any special fire prevention measures or run additional fire drills leading up to the strike. In fact, only 9% of respondents are planning to test their fire safety equipment or prevention measures. Of the companies surveyed, 10% responded that they were planning additional training for staff.

Although some Councils have announced cancelling fireworks displays for Bonfire Night on the 5th of November, one of the planned strike days, none of the companies surveyed are reviewing or cancelling planned events in the capital.

As a firm believer of sound fire safety planning, commented Rosalind Benjamin, CEO of Ark Workplace Risk Ltd., we believe the results of the survey imply that London companies appear to have existing fire safety strategies in place which therefore enables them to speedily, effectively and safely deal with scenarios such the impending London Fire Brigade strike.
