LIVERPOOL, England, April 26, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Gray Healthcare has confirmed the appointment of Professor Paul Rogers as Director of Clinical Governance.

The company, which provides tailored care packages for service users who do not need the security of an inpatient facility but do require support caring for themselves in the community, has appointed Rogers to direct Gray Healthcare on clinical governance. He will also chair the company's clinical governance meetings.

Rogers, who is also Professor of Forensic Mental Health Nursing at the University of Glamorgan, has over twenty years' experience of working in secure and open psychiatric environments. He has previously acted as a mental health service reviewer for the Health Advisory Service and the Commission for Health Improvement and has sat on the Dangerous and Severe Personality Disorder Expert Advisory Group. He is also an expert in the clinical application of gold standard risk assessment processes in community settings.

Rogers will join Noel Tracey, Clinical director, and Nathaniel Neequaye, Director of Psychological Services, on the clinical board.

Commenting on his appointment, Rogers said: I am looking forward to the opportunity of working with Gray Healthcare and ensuring that clients have safe, supportive and evidence based care. It is a privilege to be able to work together with service users to determine effective recovery programmes that are meaningful and succeed in allowing them to be part of their community.

Jonathan Gray, Chief Executive of Gray Healthcare said that Rogers would be a welcome addition to the company's senior clinical team. He added: It is great to have someone of Paul's calibre leading our clinical governance.

Paul's wealth of experience will demonstrate to PCTs and referrers across the UK that the clinical risk is being managed by an experienced qualified senior clinical team. Ultimately, I hope that he will help even more service users to stay in the least restrictive environment there is - their own homes.

Gray concluded: Together, the clinical board have more than 66 years' worth of experience in general and forensic psychiatry. I truly believe that by working in partnership at Gray Healthcare they can deliver a revolutionary approach to community care.
