- Managed Web Hosting Provider Joins the Fight Against Illegal Online Content

Leading managed hosting company NTT Europe Online today announces its support for the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), to help combat illegal online material and raise awareness of the issue on Safer Internet Day.

NTT Europe Online is a global provider of managed hosting solutions to a range of internationally-renowned clients, including UEFA, Aviva and Nissan, and whose parent company NTT Communications' global network delivers a third of all web traffic across the world.

The IWF was formed in 1996 by the UK internet industry to provide a reporting facility for illegal online material. It works alongside police, government, industry and members of the public to remove illegal online content. Safer Internet Day aims to encourage safer internet and mobile phone use amongst children and young people by highlighting issues such as cyber bullying and the responsible use of online social networks.

Commenting on the partnership, Kazuhiro Nishihata of NTT Europe Online says: As a global managed hosting provider the security and reliability of the internet is of paramount importance to our organisation and to the businesses we work with everyday. NTT Europe Online remains dedicated to improving the performance of the internet for its customers and we are proud to support the IWF's important work towards creating a safer and more trustworthy online experience for all.

Peter Robbins OBE, QPM, IWF Chief Executive said: We are delighted to welcome NTT Europe Online as a member of the IWF. The dedicated support and efforts of our members have enabled the UK self-regulatory approach to be recognised as a model of good practice in combating illegal online content. We will continue in our efforts to foster trust and reassurance in the internet for current and future users and look forward to working alongside NTT Europe Online.
