MUMBAI, India, May 20, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- HP and Sify Technologies Limited, a leading Data Center player today jointly announced an agreement to power SIFY's On-Demand cloud services using HP's Converged Infrastructure (http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/solutions/converged/main.html). This will allow Sify to provide demand based computing services on a pay per use or flexible contract model. Customers using the new service will be able to accelerate time to market and reduce cost by leveraging IT services on the fly, without making substantial capital investments in technology.

Established in 1998, Sify is India's first Private Internet Service Provider (ISP). In 2000, Sify built India's first Tier III Internet Data Center at Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The company today provides data center hosting services, corporate connectivity services, managed network, voice services, applications and system integration services. Continuing the journey to simplify computing access for businesses and organizations, Sify wanted to expand its offering with new cloud based services. To build and secure an agile cloud infrastructure, it required a robust, integrated, flexible but simplified platform that would significantly minimize the time to provision new users or application infrastructure. In addition, the model demanded instant capacity augmentation and scalability of computing resources.

Using HP's Converged Infrastructure, Sify is now launching new cloud services including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for select applications under its On-Demand Hosting Platform. To enable this, the Blade System Matrix (http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/solutions/converged/main.html) a product of HP's converged infrastructure, pools together Sify's IT resource into a highly automated and virtualized resource pool. Specific application templates have been developed to automatically provision resources for every new business requirement. Businesses users will be able to request IT services on the fly by using a self service portal powered by the HP Insight Orchestration (http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/solutions/insightdynamics/provision.html) tool, within the Blade System Matrix.
