HERNDON, Virginia, July 15 --
- SteelWorks(R) Mobile Customers to Leverage Dell’s Worldwide OEM
SteelCloud (Nasdaq: SCLD), a leading integrator of embedded computing and
server appliances, today announced that it will work with Dell’s OEM
division to manufacture and support its next generation of SteelWorks(R) Mobile
appliances for BlackBerry(R) Enterprise Server 5.0.
SteelCloud recently announced a significantly upgraded SteelWorks(R) Mobile
appliance incorporating its new EverAvail(TM) High Availability Suite.
EverAvail(TM) is a suite of applications that leverage the high-availability
features of BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 to provide robust, self-contained
automated fail-over and facilities for disaster back-up/recovery and patch
management in a hardened Microsoft Windows Server platform.
SteelCloud is leveraging our 11th generation PowerEdge servers, significant
engineering, integration, and tier one quality and support capability to deliver
a more stable and reliable server appliance, said Rick Froehlich, vice president
and general manager of Dell’s OEM Solutions Group. We’ve been in the
appliance business for more than ten years now, and are confident that a
Dell-powered appliance for the Blackberry Enterprise Server will help SteelCloud
change the game for customers in need of a truly turnkey enterprise mobility
We believe that working with Dell’s OEM division in the integration,
delivery, and support of the SteelWorks(R) Mobile appliance is the single most
significant step we have taken in addressing the tremendous market opportunity
for our appliance for BlackBerry Enterprise Server, remarked Brian Hajost,
SteelCloud president and CEO. Dell is without equal in providing the depth of
state-of-the-art products and breadth of worldwide support. Outsourcing this
vital function to Dell will allow us to better serve our customers while
concentrating our energies on the continued development of our appliance
software technology and on the sales and marketing of SteelWorks(R) Mobile.
SteelCloud’s new appliance hardware platforms will be based on
Dell’s PowerEdge R410 server technology. These appliances provide
simplified support, improved performance, and increased energy efficiency. Field
hardware support of the new SteelWorks(R) Mobile appliances will be provided by
Dell. Shipments are projected to begin in August.
